Sue Ann graduated from Kent State University, was an Alpha Phi, and a devoted Browns and Ohio State fan. She resettled in the Huntington Beach, CA area with her husband Wayne Kratzer in 1981. She enjoyed a successful career in garment sales with May Company, Gold Circle, Bullocks, and Millers Outpost, and then Vice President of Sales for Raj Manufacturing.
Sue Ann developed an extensive circle of close friends, many of whom were met through various boating activities. She had a tenacious, firecracker-like personality, an indomitable spirit, a matriarchal modus operandi and a highly practical, no-frills, get-it-done quickly and efficient approach to life that few can match. When she walked into a room, she just lit it up. She was the life of the party, actively involved in organizing social events, and kept a busy social calendar. Her friends and family describe her as the glue that held them all together. She was very close to them and spoke to everyone often.
In her last years she and Wayne cruised extensively and traveled annually to Hawaii. She loved her life, which burned so very brightly, which was cut short from complications of a lung transplant.
