CLASS OF 1973

50TH REUNION WEEKEND

JULY 28 – 30, 2023

We hope you will join your fellow classmates as we celebrate Cheer & Beers to 50 years!

It’s our 50th Reunion Celebration!   Join us back in Berea July 28 – 30, 2023.

Our 50th Reunion event begins with appetizers & cash bar at Tony K’s Restaurant on Bagley Rd in Berea on Friday evening July 28th from 6pm to midnight.

Saturday morning at 10:30am you can join us for a tour of the NEW Berea-Midpark High School

Then join us the 50th reunion celebration at Avon Oaks Country Club Saturday evening.  We’ll begin at 6pm with cocktails (CASH BAR- no credit cards!), a toast and enjoy a buffet dinner.   Following announcements and a few awards, former WMMS DJ Dan Cormier will entertain with hits from the 70’s and today.  Catch up with ole friends, dance, and stop by the photo area for individual, couples and group/team pictures.  They’ll also snap a class photo which will be available for download to all of those attending.

We’ve left Saturday afternoon and Sunday open to plan your own group or private events with classmates or family:  picnics, golf, the Rock Hall or Guardians game, a trip to Cedar Point, etc.

The committee has arranged for a block of rooms at the Hyatt Place Crocker Park, located about a mile from Avon Oaks, and less than 10-miles from Tony K’s and the airport.  RV sites are also available at the Berea Fairgrounds.  Refer to the FAQ page below for more details.

Register early, and you can participate in a drawing to win a pair of tickets to the Rock Hall of Fame donated by a Reunion committee member.  Use them after the reunion!!

Visit our website www.Berea73.com and join our FB page!   We hope to see you.

BEREA HIGH SCHOOL CLASS OF 1973 REUNION

FAQ’S

Why should we attend?

Some people just aren’t “reunion” people.  Or “we see who want to see already”.   We get that.   But working through the new website, scanning photos, and with our Reunion frequent meetings – we’ve come to share some belly laughs and some great memories of people we now rarely see.   And we’re further saddened by the growing list of classmates no longer with us.  So why not?   There are classmates that want to see YOU.   Why not spend the weekend and join us – we are sure you’ll have a good time – and won’t regret it.   Please – join us!!

Even if you don’t want to attend – check out our new Berea73 website.  Details are below.

Why July 28-30, 2023?

Event locations are booking quickly as weddings and other events were deferred due to Covid, so many locations were booked in the summer/fall of 2023, or were more than our budget allowed.  We also wanted to stay close to the Berea All-Class Reunion, which will be held July 21st in Berea.  So, this allows classmates coming from out-of-town to be able to attend both events, and enjoy the week in Berea.

When can we register?

A link for registration to our 50th Reunion weekend events is on the website, on our Facebook page and emailed to classmates.   Registration and discount hotel reservations end on July 1st.

What are the overnight accommodations?

We’ve booked a block of rooms at the Hyatt Place Crocker Park near Avon Oaks, and less than 10-miles from Berea and the airport.  Rooms have been discounted by $75 to $189 per night, and include parking, WiFi and breakfast.  Call 440-871-3100 x3 for reservations, and refer to the “Berea High School Class of ’73 Reunion block”.    The Berea Fairgrounds also offers RV and camper parking and hook-ups.

What if our spouse/partner/significant other doesn’t want to attend?

We’ve all been there and understand, but hope they will at least join us for the fun, celebration and entertainment on Saturday evening.  They won’t be alone – make it date night!  Otherwise, the Hyatt Place is located in Crocker Park – a cozy outdoor shopping village with over 110 national and local retail shops, 35+ up-scale bars & restaurants (from fast food to formal dining), and a Regal cinema complex.  Located next to I-90, you also have quick access to downtown Cleveland – the Flats, Progressive Field, the Westside Market, the Rock Hall, Little Italy, etc. There’s plenty to do!!

What’s included?  What do we wear?

Friday evening at Tony K’s is summer casual – shorts, jeans, t-shirts, etc.  We’ve planned an appetizer buffet with pizza, salad, wings, etc.  There also will be a cash bar in the party room and on the newly renovated patio.

Saturday evening at Avon Oaks Country Club is dressy casual to formal – whatever you desire.  Be casual, or show us your latest “prom” wear.   Have fun!!   Starting at 6pm, there is a cash bar for cocktails, followed by a toast and full-course buffet.  Former WMMS DJ Dan Cormier will entertain with hits from the 70’s and today – join in the singing and dancing.  A photo area will snap individual and couples’ pictures plus group shots (gather your old friends, club members, teammates, band line, etc). We’ll also take a class picture. Pictures will be available for download after the reunion.  It’s not just a reunion – it’s a celebration!

Is there golf or other activities planned?

The committee is still finalizing the plans for a tour of the new Berea-Midpark High school on Saturday.   Details will be sent before the Reunion weekend.

The committee decided not to plan other events – opting for classmates to plan and host their own events like golf, picnics, a trip to a Guardians game or the Rock Hall, or spending time with other family and friends.  However, feel free to share any events on our website or Facebook page.

How do we help spread the word?

There is an area on the website - MISSING CLASSMATES where you can forward an invite to other classmates to join the website.   From there – we can send more info about the class reunion.

Invite your friends on Facebook and via email.   We’re looking to host a bust-out event – the more, the better!
